(JW Insights) Jul 3 -- Chinese EV giant BYD sold 253,046 cars in June, much higher than last June’s 134,036, and its car sales in the first half of 2023 reached 1,255,637, a year-on-year increase of 94.25%, said the company on July 2.
In June, BYD produced 252,657 vehicles, much higher than the 134,771 vehicles in the same period last year. It produced 1,275,547 vehicles in the first half of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 95.47%.
Its sales volume of pure EV in June numbered 128,196, while those in the past six months reached 616,810, a year-on-year increase of 90.66%.
BYD also announced the installed capacity of new EV power batteries and energy storage batteries. In June and the past six months, the number was 11.816GWh and about 60.250GWh, respectively.
Also in June, BYD exported 10,536 cars in June. It launched its Dolphin model in Brazil and Australia and delivered the first batch of 100 Yuan PLUS models to Mexican consumers.
